We're hiring an Electronics Associate to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES), where we design, integrate, and maintain electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial customers. These systems include intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems.
Responsibilities
Join M.C. Dean as an Electronics Associate and launch your career through a structured 2-year development program that combines hands-on training with classroom instruction. As part of this program, you will build essential technical skills and safety knowledge, gain real-world field experience alongside industry professionals, and prepare to advance into a Field Technician role with long-term career growth opportunities.
- Learn and apply safety procedures on active job sites
- Track, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment daily
- Assist with installation raceways, cabling, racks, panels, and hardware to NEC standards
- Train in terminating, testing, and configuring electronic devices, network, and IT equipment
- Support racking, stacking, and cable terminations for head-end systems
- Participate in daily safety and project meetings
- Attend classroom training and complete technical modules to build trade skills
- Collaborate with teammates and contribute to a positive work environment
- Take on increasing responsibility and independence throughout the 2-year program
Qualifications
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, for access to classified information; ability to obtain a security clearance is desired. Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment aptitude test
- College level math course is required, if not, one must be completed within the first 30 days of employment
- Interest in electronics, technology systems, or skilled trades
- Willing to travel up to 25%
- Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and thrive in a team environment
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Willingness to work on construction sites and adhere to safety regulations
- Commitment to completing a 2-year structured development program
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check
- Valid Real ID drivers license and reliable transportation
Pay rate:
- Starting pay $20/hr
- Additional clearance incentive/hourly rate for candidates with ACTIVE polygraph clearances

Abilities:
- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
- Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
