Maine Medical Center has Cardiac Sonographer positions available that provide growth opportunity in many areas of advanced cardiac sonography. We have a dynamic and growing team that is committed to high quality, patient centered care and maintaining an excellent environment to grow as a sonographer.

Our echo lab supports many of our subspecialty cardiology teams such as:

  • The Advanced Valve Clinic
  • Congenital Cardiology
  • VAD
  • Transplant Team

And cardiac procedures such as: TAVR, MitraClip, watchman and more.

Responsible for using diagnostic medical equipment to assist with the diagnosis of various cardiac conditions, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and proficiency with appropriate clinical protocols.

PER DIEM - Day Shift

Weekend Rotation is Required

Summary:

The Cardiac Sonographer II performs moderate complexity exams and procedures, requiring independent judgement and the ability to recognize abnormal findings.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Education: Graduate of an approved School of Sonography or equivalent combination of training and experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
  2. License/Certifications: ARDMS or CCI certification in Cardiac Sonography required. BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Minimum one year of Cardiac ultrasound experience required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Performs TEE and/or stress Echocardiograms.
