JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Fiscal Policy Analyst The Department of Finance Financial Policy Bureau Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies are possible pending budget approval) Annual Starting Salary: $76,020 Applications for this position will be accepted beginning 9-26-25 until 11:59pm CDT on 10-27-25. Under supervision, performs specialized research and moderately complex analytical work to assess and report on the City's financial condition, and performs related duties as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Extract, index, merge, and manipulate large and multiple data sets into database sources. * Perform technical, analytical and data auditing functions using commercial and proprietary software applications. * Perform quality reviews and validate converted information in preparation for database creation. * Prepare tables, charts, and graphs to summarize findings and prepare narrative reports to explain data results. * Track and manage information and data requests from various sources and ensure expectations and deadlines are met. * Convert data and images into various formats. * Efficiently and effectively manages data to ensure quality and accessible reporting. * Conducts data mining, data modeling and statistical analysis on large data sets. * Meets and works with internal staff and third parties to resolve technical problems. * Monitors, analyzes, and reports on the City's actual and projected financial status and/or specific financial programs. * Develop simple to complex financial forecasts or models to project or determine future financial positions. * Creates data visualization and GIS mapping. * Identifies variances and long-term trends relative to City revenues and expenditures. * Completes special projects as necessary.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a directly related field, plus three years of fiscal policy analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.
