Job Description

The Program Coordinator - Childcare Specialist will be part of the Triton Student Parent Success team and will report to the Director of Student Advocacy in the Division of Student Affairs. This position will assist with the coordination of the Department of Education Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant that supports the needs of low-income student parents. This position will primarily oversee grant activities focused on the coordination of childcare services for students, the partnership between the university and centers, and community-level efforts which support the improvement of childcare quality in the area.

  • Maintain a local network of partner childcare centers, including summer camp providers
  • Serve as the primary liaison between university and contracted childcare centers
  • Manage MOUs between university and partner childcare centers
  • Monitor partner center quality through annual site visits
  • Maintain information related to licensure and accreditation of partner childcare centers
  • Oversee dissemination of educational materials and accreditation guidance to contracted childcare centers
  • Assist with sliding-scale based funding awards for student participants
  • Coordinate with UMSL College of Education on early childhood education and infant and child development for preparation of resource materials
  • Oversee preparation and submission of monthly invoices for payment
  • Maintain records of center support spending and documentation
  • Enter and maintain relevant CCAMPIS data and records
  • Assist in preparation of scheduled and special grant reports and funding records
  • Remain knowledgeable about proposed and enacted federal and state legislation, and community developments and action, which will affect the scope of services available for individuals with children
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations and participate in national and regional conferences as applicable
  • Contribute to the overall success of the CCAMPIS grant objectives by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Shift

This position is an on-campus position. This position will follow regular campus business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, with weekend and evening hours a few times across the year. This position may eligible for a hybrid schedule to include one day of remote work after a six month probationary period and dependent on team staffing and unit needs.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience and skills working with project or grant management

Experience working in a higher education setting

Experience with early childhood education or childcare sector

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.60- $24.05/hour

Grade: GGS-009
