Job Description
SUMMARY
Inspects parts according to quality and safety standards. Ensures goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law. Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
Starting Wage: $20.00
We offer a 2nd shift differential of $2.00 per hour and 3rd shift differential of $3.00 per hour
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Developing and maintaining company inspection reports
- Communicating with certified people of other departments
- Responsible for measurement equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
- Perform and completes tests of new parts, and report findings to engineering and managers.
- Perform all of the above operations while maintaining an orderly 5S environment
- Prevent unsatisfactory products from reaching the customer by examining materials for flaws and deviations from original product specifications
- Inspect, accept, or reject products for durability, function, customer satisfaction, and overall quality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Solid understanding of test equipment
- 1-3 years of inspection and/or production experience
- Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information undefined
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
- Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
- The pace of work is steady and fast.
- Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
