What to Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance teams across various manufacturing sites. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, improving equipment reliability, and driving operational excellence. The Associate Maintenance Manager will lead teams of Supervisors and Technicians while ensuring safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement to support Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce unplanned downtime
- Drive key performance metrics, including equipment availability, technician utilization, mean time to repair (MTTR), and spare parts management
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, including OSHA regulations and Tesla safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address equipment failures, optimize processes, and implement long-term solutions
- Manage maintenance budgets, oversee capital expenditures, and ensure resource allocation aligns with business priorities
- Utilize and improve maintenance tracking systems, including CMMS, to monitor equipment performance and schedule preventative maintenance
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, and preventative maintenance strategies
- Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and familiarity with robotics (Fanuc, Kuka) preferred
- Proficiency in CMMS systems for maintenance planning and data analysis
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, make data-driven decisions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams
