What to Expect
Tesla Fremont Construction PMO organization is seeking a Project Engineer with construction experience to support the expansion and upgrades of Fremont Factory Infrastructure. This position will be directly responsible for planning and scheduling projects in various project phases, as well as tracking and reporting progress during execution. Qualified individuals are expected to have strong drive to bring multiple functions together towards establishing a roadmap for execution and maintaining it with frequent updates.

What You'll Do
  • Lead site infrastructure planning efforts, breaking down large-scale projects (site work, building, utilities, tooling) into manageable planning and scheduling packages; coordinate with internal teams and third-party firms to define scope, manage resources, and track progress toward key milestones

  • Develop project schedules from concept to execution, aligning detailed timelines with overall execution strategies; work closely with engineering, procurement, estimating, and construction teams to sequence work and validate durations

  • Create and manage schedules using Oracle Primavera P6, ensuring complete scope coverage, logical sequencing, and realistic durations; apply resource loading, leveling, and validate contractor ramp plans using internal benchmarks and industry data

  • Lead risk assessment efforts, identifying schedule-related risks and developing contingency strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders to maintain project timelines

  • Perform quality reviews of schedules prepared by internal and external teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with company standards and project requirements

  • Support scheduling system development, including administration, process improvement, and the creation of standardized templates, KPIs, and metrics for consistent planning during early design phases

  • Lead ad-hoc schedule studies and scenario planning, enabling rapid, data-driven decisions based on trade-offs between alternatives to optimize project outcomes


What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling preferably in industrial and/or high-tech industries
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods in the civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines
  • Comprehensive understanding of planning and scheduling processes and procedures for multi-billion dollar facilities
  • Ability to lead planning and progressing meetings with a variety functions, disciplines, and trades
  • Software systems and packages including Aconex, Oracle Unifer, Bluebeam, CAD, and other construction packages. Advanced Oracle Primavera P6 experience
  • Knowledge of earned value concepts and using construction resources such as R.S. Means to validate productivity and durations
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals

    Expected Compensation
    $88,000 - $150,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
