Manufacturing Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Rochester, NY
An active TS/SCI clearance is required for this opportunity. Contract Length: 12 months Responsibilities: * Perform tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment. * Review and provide feedback on electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical drawings and designs. * Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products. * Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure program schedule milestones are met. * Own product schedule development - coordinate across disciplines to ensure agreement amongst stakeholders. * Troubleshoot issues individually and collaboratively to find quick and safe solutions that minimize schedule delays. * Balance multiple projects and priorities and communicate clearly to operations leadership. * Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation. * Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices. * Be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. * 2-8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment. * U.S. citizenship and willingness to submit to a background investigation (a government security clearance may be required for this position). Desired Qualifications: * Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry. * Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering. * Experience with Optical Metrology. * Knowledge of mechanical builds and tolerances, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). * Ability to support 9/80 work schedule is preferred.
