Job Description
Mizzou Online's Recruitment and Student Services team seeks a higher education professional who provides exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be an individual with a gift for conversation and listening who will help prospective and newly admitted online students explore and navigate online degree programs, costs, career-oriented outcomes, and help to manage expectations related to completing a program online. Your work with individuals at the inquiry, application, admission and initial enrollment planning stage will directly contribute to online student enrollment and persistence across the University of Missouri campus. The Student Service Coordinator I will also be required to attend the annual on-site Mizzou Online All Staff Retreat and other on-site events as business needs dictate. Travel for this position is expected to be minimal. The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students and current students seeking enrollment in online degree programs.
- Assist inquirers, applicants and admitted students with the information they seek regarding campus applications, admission processes, program-specific requirements, unofficial transcript evaluations and degree outcomes via phone, email, and text.
- Investigate answers to student questions by exploring campus websites, internal systems, connecting with academic units and departments when information is not easily accessible.
- Ensure frequent, quality interactions with a nimble and timely approach to prospective and current student responses driven by campus and program-specific automated outreach.
- Participate with the team in strategic planning to optimize successful pathways for students.
- Make intentional connections with prospective and current students through text, email, phone, and appointment offerings to create and maintain positive relationships with students.
- Incorporate a student-centered mindset when working with students.
- Maintain records related to student conversations in appropriate campus systems to document the support students received from our office. Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional policies.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and refine communication and outreach strategies that guide prospective students from inquiry through application and initial enrollment.
- Attend education recruitment events, program information sessions, and similar virtual events as business needs dictate.
- Provide coverage for our frontline Student Support team when applicable.
- Attend professional development sessions focused on enhancing student recruitment strategies.
- Other duties as assigned to support the mission and purpose of Mizzou Online.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM CST
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Basic proficiency with Slate
- One or more years of remote work experience
- Post-graduate education
- Experience in higher education: preferred fields of admissions, recruitment, or advising
- Demonstrated experience communicating with students, campus representatives, external stakeholders, and team members.
- Excellent time management skills
- Commitment to supporting students of various backgrounds
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $19.47 - $20.65 per hour Grade: GGS 008 University Title: Student Service Coordinator I Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
