Job Description:

Project Overview: The Client's Design System Team is looking for a Senior UX Designer with experience in design systems to be the third designer on our team. The position requires detailed visual, interface design, component, and token design, with some support for research, development, definition work, and exploratory concepting. The work of this role will include individual contribution creating and evolving new design system features and helping the design system design team establish a more consistent delivery process, working closely with the design system development team to create our design system product.

We're a large, highly collaborative team working on a suite of complex products as part of Experience Design & Research.

Designers on the Client's Design System play a crucial role in scaling visual and pattern systems across enterprise products. They help evolve the Design System by maintaining shared asset libraries, establishing best practices and patterns that prioritize accessibility, and supporting the implementation of the Design System product.

As part of a product design team within a larger business group you will have many responsibilities, but also variety, which keeps it lively. This team is also a part of the larger internal design team, which is great for exposure to other projects and expanding your experience.

Experience Level:

Level 3, 7+ years' experience

Qualifications (must haves):

* Bachelor's degree in UX, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or related field

* 7+ years of professional UX/UI experience in an enterprise or agency environment

* Experience creating desktop, responsive web, and mobile applications

* Working familiarity with Figma, Figjam, and Miro.

* Proficiency and speed in building and maintaining Figma asset libraries

* Flexibility to handle various design tasks including concepting, research, visual design

* Strong communication and conceptual thinking abilities

* Experience working within established design systems

* A portfolio of user interface design and design systems work that demonstrates cross-discipline collaboration, user-centric processes, systems-thinking and interaction strategy across web and/or native applications

* A self-driven and curious individual who thrives in collaborative brainstorming, problem solving, and knowledge sharing

Nice-to-Haves

* Crafts holistic, clear solutions to abstract UX problems - within the constraints of an established design system

* Strong finishing or "ready to publish" skills: works with organized pages, layers and documentation within Figma

* Understands design tokens and how to apply/work with them in Figma

* Experience managing a design backlog and sizing work, ideally for a design system

* Experience in storyboarding/writing, data visualizations, animation, usability studies

* Financial services experience is nice to have, but not required

* Experience establishing designer and developer handoff patterns for a design system

* Experience with AG Grid and ZeroHeight

Tasks and Responsibilities

* Working closely with design system team members to maintain, evolve and further create our assets and pattern libraries in Figma

* Creating inclusive, accessible components and publishing best practice documentation; for use across product teams

* Implement brand-appropriate design based on existing design systems and UX best practices

* Create production-ready UI that represents the approved design, and collaborate with developers to build a good experience
