Organizational Unit Overview

Job Duties
The Production Services Coordinator for Wright Auditorium is responsible for overseeing the daily technical operations of the auditorium, including audio, lighting, staging, and video production. This position provides leadership and direction to the student production team, ensuring high-quality technical support for concerts, lectures, performances, and university events hosted in the venue. Additionally, this role collaborates with the CRO Director on strategic initiatives to enhance production services and operational efficiency.

Technical Expertise & Operations Management

  • Oversee and assist with technical setups, including sound, lighting, and AV systems.
  • Interpret and execute technical riders to ensure professional event production.
  • Develop and implement policies for equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with university-wide safety standards for all production operations.
  • Research and recommend technology upgrades and industry best practices for continuous improvement.


Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Directly supervise Production Services staff and overseeing training, scheduling, and performance.
  • Lead a team of student technicians, ensuring proper training in technical skills and safety procedures.
  • Develop leadership opportunities and mentorship programs for student staff.
  • Maintain payroll records and approve timesheets for production services personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative, professional work environment that supports student development.

Event Coordination & Execution

  • Ensure all event setups, rehearsals, and breakdowns are executed efficiently and according to event needs.
  • Provide high-level oversight of technical event production, assisting as needed with major events.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external clients, and vendors to meet technical requirements.
  • Attend event planning meetings to review technical needs and ensure seamless coordination

Strategic Collaboration & Planning

  • Partner with the CRO Director on long-term strategic planning for production services.
  • Contribute to budget planning and resource allocation for production equipment and staffing.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and elevate production quality.
  • Develop initiatives to advance the use of emerging technology in event production.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in theatre arts, and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Experience interpreting and executing technical riders associated with entertainment contracts.
  • Experience with audio, lighting, and video production, including setup, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
  • Experience working with and using sound and stage lighting equipment, including soundboards, lighting consoles, stage lights, and executing stage light plots per technical riders.
  • Experience with digital signage or digital video board, and knowledgeable in supporting software
