Aon is looking for a Consultant - Compensation, Data Solutions.

Aon is looking to welcome a data-driven consultant to support our Data Solutions team, focusing on clients in the technology and life sciences sectors. This role is ideal for someone who excels in managing complex datasets, ensuring data quality, and translating insights into meaningful advisory support for executive compensation and organizational design.

Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in rewards by working with compensation survey products and data, sharing stories of project managing client engagements, and building and championing strong client relationships.

Preferred locations for the role include San Francisco / Santa Clara, or Boston, or New York / Norwalk.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Data Management & Quality Assurance
  • Ingest, clean, and validate large datasets related to executive compensation and organizational structures.
  • Ensure data integrity across multiple client segments, including emerging tech, biotech, and global life sciences firms.
  • Align client data with public filings and industry benchmarks to support high-quality deliverables.
Industry-Focused Analysis
  • Develop a working understanding of compensation trends and organizational structures in tech and life sciences.
  • Apply industry knowledge to contextualize data and identify meaningful insights for clients.
  • Support benchmarking and analytics projects with a focus on relevance and accuracy for sector-specific needs.
Advisory Support & Collaboration
  • Partner with consultants and stakeholders to deliver timely and impactful executive benchmarking and organizational consulting (OC) engagements.
  • Standardize templates and processes to improve efficiency and scalability across clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, offshore, tech, business) to ensure smooth data flow and issue resolution.
Process Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify systemic data issues and propose solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and templates that enhance data analysis and reporting.
  • Support training and documentation efforts to scale best practices across the team.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, compensation consulting, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data management tools; experience with SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with executive compensation structures and public company disclosures.
  • General understanding of the tech and life sciences industries, including organizational and compensation trends.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in presenting data to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, or other related areas of human resources preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management preferred.
  • Data management skills, process orientation, and attention to detail are critical.
  • Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative).
  • Able to work under tight deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in related subjects (Business, Finance, Human Resources).

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,000 to $120,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, IL. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
