TITLE: Material Handler
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Efficiently handle and manage the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with organizational standards and operational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Legal eligibility to work in the US.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
- Previous warehouse experience with the operation of a Forklift and electric pallet jack preferred.
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude for machines used in the production process.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
- Must be able to see in low light conditions, hear, and speak clearly. Required to operate machinery in a warehouse setting and working around pedestrians, and other warehouse pickers/material handlers.
- Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs. (frequently)
- Ability to stand and change positions frequently over an eight-hour period. A
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and legs. (frequently)
- Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or continuously to lift objects up to 50 lbs. (frequently)
- Ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with, monitors, and enforces all written and verbal safety regulations and programs of the plant and department.
- Pass all required training to safely operate forklift and load hogs.
- Understand and adhere to plant policies and procedures.
- Process work orders, documents number of units handled, interpret verbal instructions to determine tasks, and transmit data for invoicing.
- Install protective devices to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Maintain inventory of materials on daily basis in a neat and orderly manner to ensure proper levels for production purposes with the following: HITW - REPRO - SUPERHEX always keeping back flush full.
- Color concentrate Boxes.
- Able to read and maintain inventory forms.
- Maintains a clean and neat work area in the facility.
- Ability to safely operate forklift and load hogs and pallet jacks.
- Must pass all required training.
- Abides by all Pitt Plastics safety policies and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- The warehouse is not climate control. Must be able to work in an environment that is extremely hot, humid in the summer months, and cold in the winter months.
