Manager of Engineering Services

About The Role
The Manager of Engineering Services leads a team of engineers focused on sustaining and enabling the production of 3D Systems' additive manufacturing equipment, including printers, accessories, and spare parts. This role ensures complex electromechanical systems are manufacturable, supportable, and delivered with quality-resolving part shortages, field issues, obsolescence, and driving continuous improvement through design updates and VAVE initiatives. Success relies on strong cross-functional collaboration with Production, Quality, Field Service, Procurement, and other key teams to ensure reliable product delivery and ongoing customer satisfaction.

• Leads and develops the Engineering Services organization, overseeing personnel, priorities, and performance to support production and sustainment of released products.

• Drives weekly cross-functional collaboration by facilitating Jira review meetings with Product Engineers and key stakeholders to ensure engineering issues are appropriately resourced and resolved.

• Builds and maintains a high-performance team focused on diagnosing and solving complex engineering challenges related to current production.

• Provides strategic technical oversight and ensures teams are equipped with the right tools, systems, and support to execute effectively.

• Drives development of new and existing processes and procedures to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

• Champions talent development through coaching, performance evaluations, and succession planning to ensure continuity and organizational resilience.

• Sets and communicates clear, measurable objectives aligned with company goals, driving accountability and alignment across engineering functions.

• Fosters strong working relationships across departments to enable open communication, shared problem-solving, and cross-functional trust.

• Ensures compliance with 3D Systems' policies, procedures, and operational priorities while promoting a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading an engineering organization at the manager level or above.

• Proven engineering expertise in developing, sustaining, and improving complex electro-mechanical systems.

• Strong knowledge of change control processes, resource management, design for manufacturability, design for cost, and continuous improvement practices.

• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to resolve complex, high-impact problems.

• Action-oriented leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

• Proficient in technical documentation, engineering standards, and preparation of formal technical reports.

• Hands-on experience with Operations IT systems such as Oracle, TrackVia, Agile, SolidWorks, and Jira (or similar platforms).

• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification or practical experience.

• 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams, with increasing levels of responsibility.

• 5+ years of experience in operations or manufacturing support roles.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD-based systems.
