The Opportunity with McKinstry
Our HR team is growing! To help us scale, we're expanding our HR function and hiring aContract Workday Reporting Analyst. This contract position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards within the Workday HCM system to meet business needs. This role partners closely with HR and other stakeholders to translate data requirements into accurate, actionable insights while ensuring compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards. Additional responsibilities may include:
Report development and Maintenance
Design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
Translate stakeholder requirements into efficient and accurate Workday reporting solutions.
Create calculated fields, worklets, and prompts to optimize reporting outputs.
Ensure reports align with security protocols and only display data authorized for each audience.
Data Governance Audits
Data Accuracy Verification - Reviewing Workday reports and data extracts to ensure employee records, job data, and organizational hierarchies match source documentation.
Data Completeness Checks - Ensuring all required fields (e.g., job codes, cost centers, location data) are populated and formatted correctly.
Data Security & Access Reviews - Auditing user roles and permissions to confirm appropriate access levels based on job responsibilities.
Workforce Analytics - under the direction of our Senior Talent Intelligence Principal
Assist with Data Collection & Preparation - Gather demographic and organizational data from Workday and other systems, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting for analysis.
Support Reporting & Dashboard Creation - Build and maintain workforce reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, diversity metrics) and update dashboards.
Perform Data Quality Checks - Run audits to identify missing, outdated, or inconsistent data and escalate issues for correction.
Assist in Trend Analysis - Use historical data to help identify workforce trends, such as hiring patterns, retention rates, and skills gaps.
Provide approved necessary data to support our partners in the business in their Request For Proposal (RFP's).
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, and other teams to support reporting requirements.
Train and support end users on how to run, interpret, and leverage Workday reports.
Participate in cross-functional projects requiring Workday data and analytics.
Compliance Reporting
Maintain accurate and complete employee demographic and job data in Workday to support AAP, EEO-1, VETS-4212, and other compliance reporting requirements.
Regularly audit Workday data for completeness, accuracy, and proper coding of job categories, race/ethnicity, gender, veteran status, and disability status.
Ensure job profiles, work locations, and business structures in Workday align with OFCCP, EEOC, and federal/state reporting requirements.
Responsible for accurately maintaining, running and uploading compliance related reports on an annual and ad hoc basis
Continuous Improvement
Stay current with Workday releases, new analytics features, and best practices in people analytics.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data accessibility and decision-making.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Data Analytics, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of HR analytics or reporting experience, including at least 2 years with Workday reporting.
Proficiency in Workday Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reporting to include Workday Pro Certification in Reporting.
Strong data analysis, visualization, and storytelling skills.
Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
Ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders through guiding questioning to clarify objectives, uncover underlying data needs and define clear reporting specifications.
Previous compliance reporting experience.
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service in response to questions from company leaders and HR colleagues.

The pay range for this position is $64,890 - $105,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location.
