Hours

  • 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday- Friday)
  • Occasional overtime on Saturdays
  • 10-15 hours of overtime during the week as needed

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $24.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Welder!

Are you passionate about welding? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our welding function. As a welder you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Welder-Basic is responsible for performing various welding tasks to assemble metal structures and parts. This includes manual and robotic welding, blueprint interpretation, and quality inspection. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with team members to ensure high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding to join, fabricate, and repair metal components

  • Set up and operate manual and robotic welding equipment

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and job orders

  • Inspect welds for defects and ensure compliance with specifications

  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals

  • Accurately record production data

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Ability to read blueprints and follow written instructions

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Physical demands:

  • Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
  • Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
  • Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Other: Respirator certification required.
