Overview

The Practice Leader for Lender Due Diligence is responsible for ensuring the quality and standards of reporting expected by lender clients are maintained and adhered to. This position provides technical leadership, training, and mentoring of team members performing work within the Lender/GSE team, with primary focus on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae multifamily lending. The role encompasses defining and implementing operational procedures, assisting with assembling qualified expert teams for assignments, monitoring assignment progress, and limited client management duties within the lender practice area.

The Salary Range for this position is $130,100 - $195,100 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Quality Assurance



  • Write, review & revise professional PCA/ESA reports taking into consideration any unique client scope requirements, which convey the assessment.
  • Perform QA/QC review of lender due diligence reports on multifamily housing and commercial properties
  • Provide technical advice and contribute to the development of conclusions and recommendations for lender-focused projects
  • Coordinate completion of requested report revisions for lender clients
  • Assist in maintaining report writing software platforms and lender-specific templates
  • Remain up to date on GSE requirements, industry practices, and lending protocols


Training and Development



  • Provide mentorship and training of team members within the Lender Due Diligence practice
  • Develop and participate in training initiatives on GSE protocols and lender requirements
  • Foster professional development within the lender team


Team Management and Operations



  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members
  • Monitor assignment progress and ensure project delivery meets lender client expectations
  • Assist in conducting interviews and assessment of job candidates for lender team positions
  • Define and implement operational procedures and quality standards for lender-focused work
  • Represent the company to lender clients in a professional manner


Client Support and Business Development



  • Work with Business Development and Client Managers to provide technical guidance to lender clients as needed
  • Respond to requests for proposals from assigned lender clients and maintain long-term relationships
  • Assist with technical proposal preparation for lender-focused work
  • Support business development activities within the lender market segment


Project Execution



  • Conduct document reviews, and report writing for lender assignments
  • Perform other consulting project duties as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity levels


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities over Lender Due Diligence practice team members including Associates, Consultants, and support staff focused on lender work. Responsibilities include performance management, training oversight, project assignment, and professional development guidance within the lender practice area.

Required Education and Certifications



  • A Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in architecture and/or a related engineering field from an accredited institution
  • The environmental consultant must be an "Environmental Professional" as that term is defined in 40 CFR * 312.10 and must meet the minimum qualifications and requirements specified in this section.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing transaction-based Phase I ESAs and PCAs, with significant experience in the GSE arena
  • Asbestos, radon and lead-based sampling experience and credentials preferred, but not required


Required Skills and Abilities

Technical Skills



  • Extensive knowledge of ESA and PCA methodologies specific to lender requirements
  • Deep familiarity with Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac requirements and protocols
  • Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Microsoft Office and Adobe)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint required
  • Understanding of lender-specific environmental regulations and building assessment standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with co-workers, clients, and subcontractors
  • Exceptional writing, grammatical, and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel Requirements

Physical Demands

The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. The position requires the ability to speak and communicate clearly. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to ensure work productivity, quality of work, and safety to self and others.

Overtime

This position is classified as salaried with exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. Overtime may be required to meet position demands.

Travel Requirements

This position requires management of multiple concurrent projects with minimal oversight and willingness to travel regionally up to 25% of the time for client meetings, site visits, and business development activities.
