Job Summary

A Chemical Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the chemical process facility in a metal manufacturing operation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Exemplifying a safety-first mindset, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations ensuring compliance to the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  • Chemical Process Line Systems: Responsible of inspecting and repairing equipment, pumps, valves, pipes, heat exchangers and mechanical-hydraulical systems to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the line..
  • Repairs and Upgrades: Replace, conduct routine maintenance, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance equipment efficiency.
  • Documentation: Documenting maintenance activities, adhering to safety protocols, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
  • Testing: Conducting regular inspections, calibrations, and adjustments to ensure systems are running correctly and in compliance with industry standards
  • Emergency Response: Be on-call for emergency electrical repairs, responding promptly to minimize disruption and hazards. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during urgent situations.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and advancements in heat treatment systems. Provide guidance and recommendations for system improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing chemical processing equipment
  • Proven experience in chemical processes and equipment, along with a commitment to precision, are essential for success in this role.
  • Attention to detail, a strong understanding of chemicals, and adherence to quality standards are crucial for success in this role.
  • Strong safety OSHA knowledge to safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance functions.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • GKN experience
  • Professional qualification or certification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company
  • Manufacturing and facilities equipment experience in the Aerospace industry
  • A passion for the Aerospace industry

Compensation Range

The compensation range is between $28.00 - $42.00 per hour.
