Job Summary

Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements | Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data | Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost | Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes | May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements

Functional Leadership

Determines professional/ technical approaches and strategies for own function
Develops policies and procedures for own function, in line with overall organization strategy
Has responsibility for the function and reports to the site/ SBU head (and/ or to a Home Office functional leader).

Essential Functions

Manages the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies in a manufacturing setting.
Collaborates with functional leadership to identify and select processes or projects for inclusion in the organization's continuous improvement initiative.
Oversees the work of a team that evaluates existing processes and identifies opportunities for quality or efficiency improvement.
Develops and monitors the implementation of process changes meant to result in cost or waste reduction, productivity improvement, customer satisfaction, and profitability increases.
Tracks progress against established goals.
Recommended changes that may impact floor layout, material flow, or machinery selection and use.

Required Qualifications

Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
Discipline/Major: Business, Engineering, Operations or related field preferred
Additional certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Problem management. Judgement. Detail oriented. Attentiveness. Project management skills.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
