The Reuters News AgencySenior Account Manager is responsible for licensing Reuters' news and services to the news industry and other business sectors. Our customers are primarily broadcasters, print and digital publishers, corporations, and governments. Reuters News provides multi-media news solutions to help clients reach their audiences. Our products include video & text feeds, pictures & graphics, packaged content and syndication services.

This role will be based in New York, and theSeniorAccount Manager will be responsible for an established list of accounts in the United States and Canada. The SeniorAccount Manager will also be expected to retain and grow the existing book of business, as well as prospecting and closing new business.

About The Role
As aSenior Account Manager, you will:

  • Manage existing and new clients to grow revenue, maximize customer satisfaction and achieve company's strategic objectives.
  • Consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, annual sales objectives through securing new business and contract renewals in order to meet and exceed targets as agreed with the Head of Agency Sales, Americas
  • Prospect new business opportunities across traditional and new markets, and develop a pipeline of opportunities which are systematically qualified, by managing the accounts decision-making process to ensure closed revenues.
  • Exercise thought leadership to demonstrate an understanding of the customers business needs and develop and execute account strategies by collaborating with account team to deliver stronger, and compelling value proposition of Reuters News Agency solutions.
  • Prepare, present and negotiate Agency solutions and proposals in order to retain existing accounts and acquire new business.
  • Provide accurate and timely account pipeline reports, account plan updates and sales forecasts through the use of SalesForce to support management decision-making
  • Develop senior level customer relationships to become a trusted business advisor
  • Develop a contact strategy to identify key contacts and influencers at designated accounts.
  • Advocate on behalf of the customer with the internal Reuters Agency team and relevant cross functional departments.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all client needs, requirements and expectations
  • Develop a deep understanding of Reuters products and provide or coordinate customer product training as necessary

About You
To be our Senior Account Manager, you will likely have:

  • Minimum of7years' experience in a position with sales responsibility (ideally within a media company, or a news agency)
  • Experience in proactively prospecting and closing new business.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in sales. Exposure to content licensing would be a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of the media business and the markets Reuters serves in North America. Experience working with broadcasters, publishers, online aggregators and/or wireless providers would be a plus.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills; ability to deliver presentations and communicate at all levels within an organization
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The target total cash compensation range varies across locations.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The target total cash compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $147,560 - $274,040.
This is inclusive of both base pay and any target sales incentive.
Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
