DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the lead architect and administrator in managing the CEDC's Enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) and Backup & Recovery solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the integrity and recoverability of servers and application resources from tape media, safeguarding agency assets, and adhering to the disaster recovery and security standards set forth by the Governor's Office. You will also assist team members in the operational aspects of Server Administration, which encompasses server hardware installation, configuration, documentation, and ongoing maintenance. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in implementing server security initiatives within the delivery center, conducting security audits, and ensuring that all managed servers are updated with the latest service packs, hot fixes, and patches.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will manage Help-Desk tickets related to the creation, restoration, and administration of user shares, ensuring that appropriate NTFS permissions and security settings are applied as necessary. Adhering to established Microsoft and Department standards will be essential for maintaining consistency, security, and compliance in access management. This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, and networking devices and topologies. Proficiency in VMware, Microsoft clustering, Microsoft PowerShell, and backup and recovery strategies is also critical. You will be expected to implement, patch, and upgrade server operating systems and hardware effectively.
Moreover, this role entails evaluating and troubleshooting network communication issues across multiple domains, which requires a comprehensive understanding of networking and firewall configurations. A solid grasp of DNS and firewall settings, along with their implications for system communications, is vital to ensure seamless interoperability across the network. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Generalist 2, Applications Developer 2, Database Analyst, Information Security Specialist 1, or Network Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- Three years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- One year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional experience performing installations, configurations, and maintenance services in Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional experience using Microsoft PowerShell.
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional Active Directory and Group Policy management experience.
