The Technical Implementation Specialist is a valued member of the VP/COO Strategic Advancement team. This role is responsible for coordinating the rollout of data systems, designing data architecture, managing integrations, and ensuring that new tools and processes are implemented effectively across the COO portfolio. The Specialist will work closely with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate strategic plans into operational systems that enhance data reliability, reporting, and collaboration.

Purpose

This position plays a critical role in the execution of a high-visibility strategic priority project for the COO portfolio, ensuring that data systems and technologies are deployed smoothly and meet institutional standards. The Technical Implementation Specialist will help streamline processes, support system adoption, and contribute to the development of a robust data infrastructure that improves transparency, standardization, and decision-making across the University.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data systems and system architecture, including field mapping to develop a data warehouse
  • Manage system integrations with a focus on streamlining processes and enhancing collaboration across COO portfolio
  • Facilitate and streamline the implementation of new systems by evaluating requests, approving proposals, and guiding integration efforts from planning through execution
  • Conduct regular audits of systems and data to ensure data integrity
  • Document processes and workflows in user, developer, and system administrator guides to support consistent usage and maintenance
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, digestible language tailored to various stakeholder groups
  • Deliver regular training sessions on system functionality and data usage to promote adoption and proficiency
  • Standardize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics to support leadership decision-making
  • Respond to ad hoc data and systems requests with timely, accurate solutions
  • Other related functions as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, management information systems or related fields
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets
  • Proficiency in data engineering tools, techniques, and coding languages
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Self-motivated and collaborative
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, research institutions, or large public sector organizations
  • Proficiency in developing technical documentation for various audiences
  • Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse architecture and governance frameworks
  • Experience working within mainframe enterprise systems
Salary Range

$90,000 + depending on qualifications
