Job Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Division accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. This role will provide leadership to the centralized Division Accounts Receivable team, with accountability for invoicing, cash application, and collections. The Accounting Manager is a key participant in the Division's monthly and quarterly close procedures and serves as a primary accounting resource for the Plant accounting teams.

The individual in this role will maintain a strong internal control environment and drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the centralized Division Accounts Receivable team, with responsibility for invoicing, cash posting, collections, and related reporting.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and US GAAP.
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial statements to support the close process.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Act as a key accounting resource to Plant accounting teams, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to team members, fostering a high-performance and inclusive environment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA is a plus.
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience in accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, cash application, and collections.
  • Strong technical skills in account reconciliations and resolving accounting issues.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment preferred.
