Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Division's accounting operations with a focus on the accounts receivable process, general ledger accounting, and monthly closing activities. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of receivable records, performs cash posting and invoicing functions, and contributes to collections efforts. The role will include accounting for fixed assets and assisting with other areas of general accounting as assigned.

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting timely and accurate monthly close procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute accounts receivable processes, including invoicing customers, posting cash receipts, maintaining accurate receivable records, and supporting collections.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of receivable balances through reconciliations and reporting.
  • Assist with accounting for fixed assets, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Record journal entries and perform general ledger accounting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide timely information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency within accounting operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • 2 to 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivable or general ledger accounting.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
