Purpose of Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the daily support of manufacturing from the engineering side. This position would be the first point of contact and take care of any questions/issues from the Mechanical shop, Machine shop, Customer service and Final assembly.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing from the engineering side from machine shop to final assembly
  • Support customer service
  • Help source potential vendors for sheet metal, 3D printing, machining, etc.
  • Source replacement/ substitute parts
  • Update parts/drawings as required
  • Design fixtures/tooling for manufacturing
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Identify areas where costs can be reduced by improving processes and implementing cost-saving measures
  • Determine root causes of failures and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods
  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods(chain tensioning, belt tensioning, etc.)
  • Stay up to date on processes for 3D printing, machining, powdercoating, etc.
  • Support for proposals(Facility drawings, renderings, etc.)
  • Assist with design tasks as time allows
Minimum Education
  • BS in Engineering
Minimum Experience
  • 2+ years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Solidworks, Microsoft Office
  • Experience with mills, lathes, welding, sheet metal
  • 3D printing experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and good communication skills
