General Purpose: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic HR team. In this role, you will support various HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation of human capital management processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, along with a background in recruitment or talent acquisition, a solid understanding of employment and labor laws, and experience with HRIS systems. This position is crucial for fostering a positive workplace environment and enhancing employee relations.

Job Requirements

Recruitment



  • Develop and manage a pipeline of potential candidates through proactive market and data analysis and insights.
  • Develops processes and marshals candidates from screening, presentation to hiring manager, interviews as required, and completes all pre-screening, onboarding, and follow-up activities.
  • Partners with external staffing agencies to identify and recruit candidates, often for temporary staffing needs.
  • Maintains the applicant tracking system and provides updates to the HR manager on where candidates are in the hiring process.
  • Maintain market awareness and keep up to date, accurate information related to competitor companies with similar roles in our marketplace.


Administrative



  • Participates in the Records Retention program by ensuring records are documented and stored according to policy. Performs file audits to ensure the consistency and legality of employee documents.
  • Screens, relays, and follows up on email, telephone, and mail correspondence to direct communications to the appropriate parties and/or respond to inquiries. Directs all employment and income verifications to the HR Manager.
  • Responds to employee inquiries, ensuring a high level of confidentiality and customer service, and ensuring the HR Specialist and Manager are kept abreast of all matters. Communicates with the appropriate manager as needed to relay pertinent payroll and/or benefits questions or information.
  • Recommends changes in processes to improve productivity and standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality as it relates to organizational changes and other sensitive information related to the human resources job responsibilities.
  • Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department
  • Conducts month-end reporting for Human Resources
  • Assists with planning and organizing events sponsored by Oakhurst Dairy
  • Assists with planning and organizing internal training efforts, including scheduling, surveying/registering of participants, record keeping, and day-of execution.
  • Leads by example and serves as a change agent as the company adopts new practices, policies, and procedures-models the way in working within and in support of our Core Values.
  • Performs other responsibilities as determined by business needs.


Qualifications:

1-2 years' prior experience in a Human Resources department or knowledge of Human Resources practices and responsibilities is preferred.

1-2 years of talent acquisition or recruitment required

Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, a nd Outlook

Excellent organizational skills, including prioritizing, time management, and meeting deadlines

Must be multi-task oriented and be able to work with teams as well as on projects.

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Ability to demonstrate and maintain a high level of confidentiality

Self-motivated and able to work independently
