The role is based in Rochester, NY (onsite).

Where You'll Make a Difference

  • Leading engineering projects through investigation, scope, design, and implementation phases to provide safety and capacity improvements.

  • Providing support to engineers in executing plant trials and production/maintenance troubleshooting.

  • Comply with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMPs, Dietary Supplements, and HACCP-HARPC

  • Adhere to all quality systems including ISO 22000 Food Safety, FAMI-QS and NSF Dietary Supplements with an understanding of IFF Corporate Quality policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work safely and comply with all corporate/site EHS guidelines and policies

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the Spring and Summer semester of 2026 (will also consider Summer-only 2026).

What Makes You the Right Fit

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related disciplines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work and complete projects independently, as well as within a team environment.

  • Basic understanding of microbiological concepts and assays.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).

  • Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Problem solving and critical thinking

  • Data analysis and visualization

  • Project leadership

  • Process Hazard Analysis and Process Safety Management

  • Communicating effectively and interacting with people of different background

  • 3.0 GPA or Higher

  • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver concrete project deliverables in a timely manner.
