Job Description
Tokyo Electron America, Inc. a subsidiary of Tokyo Electron Limited, a global, multi-billion dollar corporation and a leader in the semiconductor equipment industry is seeking research scientist candidates. Tokyo Electron markets a wide range of semiconductor production equipment (SPE) products and provides outstanding service and support to semiconductor device manufacturers. TEL's world-renowned products and technologies support diverse customer needs for the manufacturing of increasingly sophisticated semiconductors.

Position Summary:
TEL is seeking a summer intern with an education background in Accounting/Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc.
  • Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
  • Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements.
  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects.
  • Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
  • May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns.
  • May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy.
  • May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use.
  • May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders.
  • May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be pursuing a B.S. or M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Finance, economics, or equivalent field
  • Previous internship experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is preferred

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
