Information Technology / Operations Technology personnel continually adapt to technological advancements, ensuring the organization stays at the forefront of emerging IT/OT trends and is well-equipped to meet future challenges while maintaining secure and stable operations.

Discipline Description

Software Engineers design, develop, and maintain software solutions by engaging in the complete development lifecycle. They collaborate with customers to capture requirements, aligning them with business goals and architectural guidelines. Using various programming languages, they craft secure and efficient code, often incorporating third-party resources to extend functionality. These experts are committed to continual system improvement and adoption of new technologies to meet changing business demands. They also prioritize security, constantly updating systems to address emerging threats. Additionally, Software Engineers specify and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide applications or services, and configure, implement, and maintain software applications. They conduct a wide range of tests and analyses to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user requirements and ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

SRNS is seeking a Smart (SmartPlant) Materials (MARIAN) System Administrator to support Savannah River Site (SRS) on a full-time, permanent basis. This position plays a crucial role in optimizing Smart Materials to support engineering, procurement and construction projects, focusing on data management, configuration, customization, security, and user support.
Candidates should possess skills and experience in several areas:
* Understanding of standards, work practices and best practices related to engineering, procurement, material management and construction activities executed in the tool.
* Provide support regarding the functionality of the tool to the user base.
* Provide/Execute training on Smart Materials in both a classroom and one-on-one arrangement.
* Champion continuous improvement using the tool and best practices.
* Prepare Smart Materials specific work instructions to be consumed by the user base.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
* Previous experience with Hexagon's Smart Materials.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

We'd Also Like to See

Knowledge of Smart Construction and Smart Completions software.
Familiarity with Oracle Apex and Oracle Database Administration
Experience with enterprise software tools such as:
o Oracle Primavera
o Microsoft Project
o Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint)
Working knowledge of AWP and JIT practices and applications.
Experience with Government, Nuclear, Construction, and Engineering industries

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
