Event Setup Lead supports events at the UW Madison - Discovery Building (330 N. Orchard St). This essential role is responsible for coordinating and executing event setups for conferences, meetings, and other special events. The Event Setup Lead will greet and assist clients and guests, troubleshoot AV equipment, and ensure the smooth execution of events. Exceptional customer service is a cornerstone of this position. Additionally, the role involves guiding and training student workers. Based on need, this position may occasionally support events in additional buildings.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Gathers, enters, and maintains accurate event data and records
  • Performs on-site event set-up and clean up and may perform basic custodial duties
  • Assists with scheduling logistics and securing resources for vendor services
  • Guides and trains student workers
  • Assists with the creation of promotional materials and resources for events
  • Greets customers/guests, assists with registration, answers questions, and provides routine information, referring more complicates issues to appropriate entities
