Job Description:

We are hiring a senior techno functional leader to own the data lifecycle for our Microsoft Consulting Manufacturing Business Applications unit. We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about making the most of data in manufacturing environments-a leader who maximizes client value by properly organizing, governing, and leveraging data. This role is responsible for data across client projects-from data migration planning and execution through analytics and AI readiness. You'll modernize how we migrate and govern data, serve as a client facing advisor to client-stakeholders, and scale delivery by leading and mentoring a high performing team that collaborates globally.

You will primarily work in the Microsoft ecosystem (Dynamics 365 Sales, Finance & Supply Chain, Power Platform, Power BI) and partner with deep technical architects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Data Migration & Modernization (Primary)

  • Own the endtoend data migration workstream for ERP implementations -from discovery and scoping through cutover and postgolive stabilization.

  • Establish a modern migration playbook (standards, templates, accelerators) covering mapping, cleansing, enrichment, validation, reconciliation, and defect triage.

  • Optimize build/test cycles using automation and reusable scripts; drive measurable reductions in cycle time and defects.

  • Partner with technical teams on tooling (e.g., D365 Data Management & data entities, Dataverse, ETL pipelines) while staying focused on business outcomes and readiness.

Drive Analytics & AI Readiness (Secondary)

  • Start analytics work from Day 1 of the project: treat data as a core design element in ERP implementations, not an afterthought. Define success measures and a KPI tree aligned to manufacturing goals (e.g., OTIF, schedule adherence, cost variances, inventory turns) before configuration begins.

  • Position clients for AI and automation: harden data lineage, governance, and telemetry so Copilot, advanced analytics, and Power Automate scenarios can be safely adopted and deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Influence functional design so that implementations capture and structure the right data at the right quality.

Solution & Delivery Leadership

  • Orchestrate crossfunctional delivery: backlog creation, user stories, acceptance criteria, test strategy, and risk/issue management using Azure DevOps.

  • Communicate clearly with client executives and SMEs; facilitate workshops; make tradeoff recommendations grounded in value and feasibility.

People Leadership & Global Collaboration

  • Scale knowledge via playbooks, standards, brownbags, and communities of practice; contribute reusable assets and accelerators.

  • Collaborate closely with global teammates to drive "followthesun" progress and improve our offshore/nearshore delivery model.

Continuous Learning & Microsoft Ecosystem Value

  • Stay current on Microsoft's business apps and data stack (D365 Finance & Supply Chain, Dataverse, Power Platform, Power BI, Azure/Microsoft Fabric, and Copilot/AI features) and identify pragmatic, nearterm applications to client scenarios.

  • Translate new capabilities into valuebacked proposals: quick POCs, ROI hypotheses, automation candidates (Power Automate), and data/analytics standards that improve timetovalue.

  • Maintain a living Microsoft ecosystem roadmap for each client, balancing foundational data quality/governance with opportunistic wins in analytics and automation.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • 7-12+ years delivering dataintensive work on large ERP programs (preferably Microsoft D365 Finance & Supply Chain; SAP or Oracle also considered).

  • Demonstrated ownership of data migration for manufacturing clients: domain scoping, mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and cutover execution.

  • Strong manufacturing functional knowledge (BOMs, routings, MRP, production orders, inventory, quality, costing, procurement, ordertocash, plantoproduce, recordtoreport).

  • Handson ability to produce mockups/wireframes/POCs and partner with technical teams on practical solutions (SQL basics, data profiling, entity models, APIs/ETL concepts).

  • Familiarity with Azure data services (e.g., data factory, fabric, data lakes, pipelines, governance)-not as a deep SME but able to collaborate effectively with specialists.

  • Proven clientfacing communicator with executive presence; skilled in workshops, storytelling with data, and decision facilitation.

  • People management experience: team leadership, coaching, performance feedback, and resource planning

Nice-to-Have:

  • Exposure to Power Platform (Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate) and Microsoft CoPilot.

  • Experience with MES/PLM/EDI integrations and manufacturing shop floor data.

  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Git, and structured delivery practices (backlogs, user stories, test management).

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (D365 Finance/Supply Chain, Power Platform, Power BI) are advantageous.
