Occ Summary

Perform a variety of technical tasks involved inoperating radiographicequipment and making radiographs of designated a natomical areas ofinterest.


Work Performed

Perform a variety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to makeradiograph sof designated anatomical areas of interest. Adjust equipmentfor proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiationsafety guid elines.Explain x-ray procedures to patients.Position patients for each a natomical view using positioning assistancedevices and protective equipm ent as necessary.Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician wi th fluoroscopicprocedures and special radiographic procedures.Accurately process images for optimal quality. Match with appropriatepaperwork fori nterpretation.Charge radiographic procedures in; able to modify orderspe r protocol.Demonstrate acceptable film quality standards by critiquingpo sitioning,technical factors, and collimation.Understands and uses theImage Archival SystemProvide education and training to DUHS affiliatedradio logy technologyprograms.Provide orientation to new technologists.Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein**DUHS offers career growth and enrichment within Imaging services.There is a clinical ladder program with various steps and opportunitiesat each hospital within the health system.

Education

Graduate or completi on of program that meets eligibility requirementsfor registry/certificat ion or currently holds required registry orcertification.


Ex perience

Level I must obtain certification within18 months of em ployment.Level II Minimum of two years' experience as a diagnostic radio logytechnologist.Level III A minimum of 4 years' experience within speci alty modality inwhich they are seeking promotion.
