Job Family Health & Safety Discipline Industrial Safety Career Level P3 Salary Range $78,500 - $110,000 Note for Salary This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors. Job Family Description Occupational Health and Safety personnel ensure workplace environments comply with health and safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents, injuries, and health hazards. They conduct risk assessments, regular inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. They develop, implement, and train employees on health and safety processes, procedures, and protocols. They ensure organizational compliance with health and safety requirements from regulatory agencies. They review and provide input for hazards and controls in job safety analyses. They investigate incidents, analyze causes, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public. Discipline Description Safety personnel are responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public. They conduct studies and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards, and regulations. They investigate accidents and promote safety-conscious work performance and environments, provide safety performance measures, and perform root cause analyses. They develop and maintain the company's safety procedures and practices. Industrial Safety personnel also provide injury case management and Workers' Compensation case management. They direct and coordinate appropriate, timely and cost-effective delivery of health care related to disability, urgent and emergency care, work limitations, transitional return to work plans, accommodations and part-time work for workers' compensation and nonworkers' compensation illness and injury. They perform ongoing evaluation and treatment plans, determine essential job functions, and identify and implement necessary limitations, accommodations, and part-time work for high frequency/high-risk cases to reduce the length of disability. Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include: The Senior Safety & Health Specialist monitors, analyzes, and investigates workplace activities to support SRNS initiatives Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field We'd Also Like to See Previous SRS Experience Career Band Professional Career Band Description * Roles in this band apply the knowledge in area of expertise to analyze information; design and develop new approaches, methodologies and processes; and, provide professional advice and guidance to others in accordance with professional quality standards Career Level Description Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own field/discipline, solving complex problems with minimal guidance and oversight. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
