Sheet Metal Manufacturing - Working Lead

Scope of Position:
Thishands-on and quality-focusedindividual, as part of theFabrication team, will be responsible for leading and supporting daily operations in the sheet metal manufacturing area. This role ensures that production targets are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

This position is responsible for supervision ofSheet Metal Operators and Fabricators.
This position reports toValue Stream Supervisor. This role isonsiteand is based inFort Worth, Texas.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee sheet metal fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, punches, and laser cutters, saws, CNC machines
  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the sheet metal team to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure adherence to safety protocols and manufacturing procedures.
  • Train new team members and provide ongoing guidance and support.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Inspect PPE, is accurate for the right job
  • Inspect tools, cranes, machines, forklifts,
  • Assign tasks to the appropriate team members based on their skills and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and material usage.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned byValue Stream Supervisor or Company management.
  • Demonstrate and promoteIntegrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, and Transparencyin all aspects of the role.
  • Travel Requirements:Minimal (0-5%), may include occasional visits to other Watts facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (in absence of diploma, relevant work experience may be considered).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using measuring tools.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, includingcriminal history, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification in welding, metal fabrication, or manufacturing technology.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming or automated fabrication equipment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company'sFort Worth, Texaslocation. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to25 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to25 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
