Job Summary

As a Line Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient department operations, driving the team to achieve daily production goals with a strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee and analyze the daily production schedule, making strategic adjustments to optimize workflow and ensure timely completion of production targets.
  • Lead by example by managing, motivating, and communicating effectively with team members; assign tasks clearly and provide support by actively participating in daily workloads as needed.
  • Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs for both new hires and existing employees to foster skill development and adherence to best practices.
  • Regularly assess employee performance and product quality by monitoring compliance with work instructions and established quality standards to maintain high operational excellence.
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials and resources for all line employees, proactively addressing supply shortages to avoid production delays.
  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring staff have access to and are trained in proper use of personal protective equipment, chemical handling procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Take ownership of enforcing departmental safety policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Act as the communication bridge to Supervisors and Plant Managers by promptly reporting any personnel or department concerns, providing well-considered recommendations for resolutions.
  • Coordinate with Operational Equipment Services and Maintenance teams to address and resolve equipment malfunctions swiftly, minimizing downtime.
  • Utilize company systems such as CMS and Training Manager to input, update, and review relevant data accurately, supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Engage actively in process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhanced efficiency, safety, and quality, contributing innovative ideas to team projects.
  • Flexibly support cross-functional duties beyond primary responsibilities to contribute to overall team success and operational excellence.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and effective exchanges with team members and management.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities to evaluate operational challenges and implement practical solutions swiftly.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills to prioritize duties and meet production deadlines consistently.
  • Proven capacity to collaborate courteously and productively with colleagues at all organizational levels, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.

Education / Experience

  • Proficient computer skills, including experience using digital production tracking and employee training systems.
  • Hands-on operational experience within various departmental functions, demonstrating practical understanding of production processes and challenges.
