Position Description: ThinkTek is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Software Tester to join our team supporting federal programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Government Acceptance Testing (GAT), ensuring software solutions meet both end-user needs and contractual requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with business analysts, developers, and government stakeholders in a structured testing environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Testing and Validation Support
  
  
  • Develop, execute, and document test cases, scripts, and scenarios for functional, UAT, and GAT activities.
  • Coordinate with end users, product owners, and government stakeholders to validate system functionality against business requirements.
  • Track, log, and report defects, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
  • Participate in test planning sessions, requirement reviews, and sprint ceremonies (Agile/SAFe environments).
  • Support development of UAT/GAT acceptance criteria and ensure traceability to requirements.
  • Prepare test reports, metrics, and other documentation for submission to project leadership and government stakeholders to manage progression of testing efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Assist in evaluating and documenting current and future state business processes using process mapping and workflow analysis.
  
  
• Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  
  
  • Participate in meetings and workshops to gather input from end users, business leaders, and technical teams.
  • Support communication between business and IT teams to ensure successful solution implementation.
  
  

Required:

• Skills & Competencies:
  
  
  • Experience executing UAT/GAT processes.
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis techniques, such as use case development and process mapping.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and/or business process modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Education & Experience:
  
  
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in software testing, business process analysis, requirements gathering, or IT-related projects.
  
  

Desired:

• Masters Degree
• Familiarity with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, DoD business processes, policies, and/or IT systems.
• Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies or other software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other user story management and/or requirements management software.
• Previous experience supporting government or defense contracts.
