Position Overview

QinetiQ US is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Internal Auditor to support the ongoing compliance and continuous improvement of our ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D and CMMI certified Quality Management System (QMS). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits across all departments and business units, ensuring adherence to regulatory, customer, and industry standards.



Responsibilities

    Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits in accordance with the company's Internal Audit Policy and industry best practice.
  • Evaluate compliance with ISO 9001,AS9100D and CMMI standards, internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform process-based audits to assess effectiveness, efficiency, and conformity.
  • Identify and document nonconformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement (OFIs).
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify implementation effectiveness.
  • Participate in management reviews, supporting data analysis and QMS performance evaluation.
  • Assist with external audits conducted by certification bodies, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain detailed, organized, and accurate audit records and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in internal auditing within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments.
  • Relevant experience with CMMI.
  • Prior experience in US Government Professional Services / SETA (systems engineering and technical assistance) contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMMI, ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
  • Strong understanding of QMS principles, risk-based thinking, and process auditing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to manage multiple audits and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,SharePoint)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 / AS9100
  • Certified Appraisal Team Member for CMMI Appraisals
  • Additional quality certifications (e.g., CQA, CQE, Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with Windchill QMS software tools.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint and Deltek TipQA/TipSFE software.
