The Opportunity

The HR and Finance Systems Analyst plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the University's enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, primarily Workday. Reporting to the Director of HR and Finance Systems, this position contributes to the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with institutional goals and drive operational excellence. The Analyst primarily focuses on supporting Human Resources and may assist in support of Finance. This IT role plays a critical part in advancing HR operations through thoughtful analysis, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

As a member of the Applications and Development team, the Analyst partners with HR stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective system configurations, reports, and process enhancements. They contribute to the optimization of Workday, ensuring data integrity, user satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with enterprise cloud ERP systems-preferably Workday-and demonstrate proficiency in system configuration, reporting tools and process automation. They are adaptable professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and consistently deliver exceptional customer service across departments.

The Analyst serves as both an individual contributor and a project lead, managing the full life cycle of assigned initiatives with a focus on quality, timeliness, and user experience. Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field.

Required minimum number of years work related experience:
  • 3-5 years of Information Technology related work experience.

Required skills, Knowledge, abilities:

  • Ability to work in an application support role, and to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.

  • Experience in all phases of the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, go-live, testing).

  • Knowledge of interface construction.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of administrative, clerical, and academic clients.

  • Adept at implementing technology-enabled business solutions for internal customers as part of a high-talent, cross-functional team.

  • Ability to work within a team-centric, fast paced work environment and able to multi-task, set priorities, work independently and proactively with limited direction and work effectively under the pressures of multiple competing deadlines.

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.

  • Excellent communication, in a variety of methods, is essential in keeping the stakeholders well informed as well as the internal and wider team. Strong customer service experience including documentation and training skills are essential.

  • Adhere to divisional and university policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology related to application support and project management.

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including ability to use Microsoft Office desktop tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).

Additional comments regarding education/experience requirements:
  • At least 3+ years of experience working with enterprise applications, preferably in the HR area.

  • Solid experience in higher education administrative and/or academic computing environment is preferred.

  • Ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and success with leading efforts in designing and implementing Workday.
