Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor of Clinical Practice or Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Instructor of Clinical Practice: * Certified Nurse Practitioners are certified advanced practice nurses who provide primary health care and specialized health services. Physicians Assistants are licensed to provide primary health care and specialized health services. First time appointees must complete the application process to receive authorization to provide services as an allied health professional. * Current Colorado license as a Registered Nurse, including registration in the advanced practice nurse registry or current license as a Certified Physician Assistant. * Education: Graduation from a master's program in nursing accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing (NLN), or, graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program. * Completion of a formal postgraduate nurse practitioner track or program in the applicant's specialty within a school of nursing granting graduate level academic credit, or completion of a formal Physician Assistant program with evidence of successful completion either through a certificate or a letter from the program director. * Compliance with the requirements under the Colorado Nurse Practice Act (for NP candidates only). * Documentation of prescriptive authority granted by the Colorado Board of Nursing. Nurse Practitioners who have not been granted prescriptive authority by the Colorado Board of Nursing must obtain prescriptive authority by the Colorado Board of Nursing within two appointment cycles for full time clinical FTE. * A DEA license is required to prescribe any medications. Medications cannot be prescribed in the electronic health record until the DEA license is obtained. * Current certification in basic life support (BLS) and ability to obtain pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and ACLS. Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice: * Certified Nurse Practitioners are certified advanced practice nurses who provide primary health care and specialized health services. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in the clinical management of pediatric cardiac patients. * Prior work history with congenital heart disease, including single ventricle physiology. * Inpatient pediatric cardiology experience with management of complex congenital heart patients Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * A successful candidate will have the ability to take a team-based approach to the management and care of our patients. * Excellent communication skills to interact with multiple medical disciplines. * Excellent bedside manner and physical exam skills. |
