Data Scientist II (Biomarkers, AI/NLP) Category: Information Technology Employment Type: Contract To Hire Reference: BH-388391 Data Scientist II (Biomarkers, AI/NLP) 100% Remote 6-Month Contract-to-Hire About the Role Our client is seeking a Data Scientist II to join their growing team. This role will focus on biomarker-related data initiatives while leveraging cutting-edge AI tools, particularly Generative AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The ideal candidate will bring strong Python programming skills, solid scientific acumen, and a collaborative mindset to support two key project areas within the team. Key Responsibilities Apply Generative AI and NLP techniques to analyze, interpret, and extract insights from complex biomarker data sets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize data-driven solutions in support of biomarker discovery and development. Build, test, and deploy models, algorithms, and workflows to support ongoing scientific and clinical projects. Partner with internal stakeholders to translate scientific questions into technical solutions. Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required Skills & Experience Bachelors, Master's degree, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field. Strong Python programming skills, with proven experience applying AI/ML models. Hands-on expertise in Generative AI and NLP frameworks(e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI APIs, Transformers). Familiarity with biomarker data(any therapeutic area; ophthalmology experience is a plus). Strong statistical and machine learning background with experience handling large-scale biomedical datasets. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Domain knowledge in ophthalmology or vision sciences is a big plus. Experience with cloud-based ML environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Prior work in pharma, biotech, or healthcare data environments.
