Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA preferred and experience with related AUS preferred. Mortgage loan origination lending background is required. Job Description
SUMMARY: Originate various types of mortgage loans. Generate bank fee income by originating secondary market loans, and build or replace portfolio as directed by senior management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes loan applications, inputting complete and accurate information in the loan origination system. Obtains all necessary documentation specific to the product, program and specific needs of the client. Reviews customer provided documentation to insure it meets all industry standards, review customer credit and analyze overall information to insure that any unanswered questions are documented and provided. Discloses and provides the client with all required documentation within 3 days of application. Delivers a complete application electronically to processing partners within 3 days of application, followed by the customer provided documentation within 5 days of application. Reviews realistic expectations and timeline with the customer during the initial application process. Conducts weekly pipeline calls with processors and/or team to insure all information is shared, and all needs are identified with what is needed, who is responsible to satisfy need, and when will it be completed. Promotes the bank's mortgage within the real estate community by attending realtor functions, community events and educational opportunities within the industry. Communicates effective updates with customers throughout the mortgage process to insure they have no surprises. Maintains and updates sales stage information to insure the referral source can see the progress of the referral. Promotes and cross-sells all bank products and services. Be the content expert on all the programs and products offered by the bank, as well as the overall mortgage industry. Listen to the needs of customers and align them with the appropriate product and program to meet their mortgage needs. Pre-Qualify purchase customers as requested. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The position will initially pay a forgivable draw, then the wage for the Mortgage Loan Officer position is $1,000 bi-weekly ($26,000 annualized), with excellent opportunity for commission, approved overtime and referral incentives. The position includes 5 days of STD (Short Term Disability), 11 annual paid holidays, and 1 annual float holiday.
