Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivatedATC System Technical Specialist to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based inPearl City, HI.
Accountabilities:
- Perform failure analysis and technical investigation
- Early identification of failure trends that may impact system availability
- Conducts special studies, testing and investigations and acts as a trouble shooter to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
- Lead and perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of System and subsystem issues to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults.
- Analyzes log files to troubleshoot complex problems to provide required corrective action and predictive maintenance for the systems.
- Support the preparation of system performance maintenance technical report
- Oversee the operations and the correct functionality of the ATC Signalling systems and equipment to meet the performance requirements in the contract.
- Maintain, produce and audit accurate maintenance records of the ATC Signalling system related infrastructure, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system
- Cross-train, lead and performs routine, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned ATC Signalling system equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals.
- Implements sound employee relations and practices within the parameters of the O&M organization regulations and union agreements
- Ensure that the corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with the company safety policy and local regulations
- Assist the Department manager on the planning of preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet system availability for service requirements
- Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty
- Support the on-site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site
- Produce work blocks and Job hazard analysis pertained to planned work
- The role requires to work close proximity to the third rail frequently request Red Tag, LOTOs and hot stick application
- Perform duties as instructed/directed by Department Manager and the System Engineer
- Ensure conformance to technical specifications and compliance with operational specifications and tolerances (e.g. verifying dimensions and clearances of parts,...)
- Ensure that sufficient materials, tools, and equipment are on hand calibrated and in good condition for maintenance activities
- Ensure that the corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with the company safety policy and local regulations
- Comply with all maintenance procedures and instructions including; safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Ensure the effective implementation of first-line response maintenance safety standards
- The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects, and operating transit systems
- Perform additional cross functional job duties on unrelated track and third rail systems included but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic controlled systems in accordance with training and qualification
Required Education/Skills:
- 4 years' experience with maintenance and troubleshooting faults on ATC equipment
- Associate Degree in Electrical engineering or related field
- Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on the line and the rules governing the protection of traffic.
- Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Rulebook, etc., and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of ATC system.
- A team player with a strong analytical mind and ability to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision.

The salary range for this position is $93,000 - 139,500. Final pay is determined by the candidate's experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
