Assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders. Review and verify new hire documentation and job changes records to ensure accuracy, and coordinate administrative and operational talent acquisition processes that ensure a smooth and efficient hiring experience.
Essential Duties
Assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
Cover front desk as needed and perform administrative and clerical support tasks, such as greeting visitors, determining the purpose of each person's visit, and routing calls to the appropriate person. Assist with new hire paperwork including I-9 form, E-Verify, and creating new employee ID badges.
Monitor the Human Resources email account and appropriately respond to inquiries or forward to the correct HR team member.
Assist with the coordination of projects related to employment such as updates to the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), hiring procedures, search committee training, etc.
Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the college.
Assist with the job posting and job advertisement processes.
Coordinate the preparation and electronic filing of employee personnel files, and review and verify new hire documentation and job change records to ensure accuracy.
Ensure all new hires are progressing through the hiring process which includes conducting background checks, pre-employment drug screens, offer letters, and assigning new hire paperwork.
Prepare personnel items for the board consent agenda.
Work with hiring managers to extend salary offers for chosen candidates of open positions.
Oversee HR front desk activities and part-time staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
1 year applicable experience in a high customer-volume or human resources department.
Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
Ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software and other systems.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Ability to organize and perform responsibilities on one's own initiative with minimal supervision.
Sensitivity when handling confidential information in a professional and discreet manner.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Preferred Qualifications
SHRM-CP or PHR certifications.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
Ellucian Banner and NEOED experience.
1 year experience supporting recruitment efforts, with a key role in coordinating and assisting during job interviews to create a smooth and positive candidate experience.
