Training for this position would be on the job training.

The Director HRIS/ Director HRIS & Workforce Planning develops, drives, and executes on critical HR-supporting technology solutions as well as workforce strategies to meet both current and future business challenges for BNSF.

Key responsibilities may include:

Manage a team to deliver data driven insights to support actionable strategic workforce direction, including the development and deployment of a leader-centric suite of analytical tools and resources and strategic presentations of key workforce-related metrics, helping to inform and shape the direction of leadership decisions.

Drive HR Analytic strategy, develop and deliver a suite of tools for all people leaders to make decisions based on strong personnel data science and predictive analytics.

Forecast and track monthly headcount and contractor counts for the Executive Team. Monitor and report on key workforce targets and metrics (e.g., Headcount, hiring, etc).

Conduct ad hoc studies with cross-functional teams that answer key organizational questions (e.g., hiring and career progression analysis, attrition analysis).

Drive strategic initiatives and usage of the Employee Central HR system of record to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and ease of use. Service as the Center of Excellence and "owner" of the platform (SuccessFactors), to include trouble shooting system issues and seeking out/integrating new technologies.

Serve as a HRMIS liaison for all technology solutions within the HRM department, helping to facilitate new technology ventures aimed at creating more efficiencies, greater ROI, and risk mitigation. Strong partnership with HR and TS partners is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, or other business discipline required.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in human resources, or a related field required. Human Resources experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with data and/or data systems (preferably HR data/systems) with a demonstrated ability to convert complex data to meaningful business insight.
  • Demonstrated excellence in analyzing data, developing meaningful insights, and presenting those insights and recommended actions to business leaders at various levels within the company.
  • Extensive analytic skills to assess business situations, processes, and data in a highly detailed and complex environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience in scenario forecasting, workforce analysis and/or predictive modeling.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience multi-tasking in a highly matrixed environment with ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, M.S., M.A. or PhD. or other advanced degree in related areas
  • Experience tracking/forecasting workforce numbers (or similar resources), including restatements and reconciliation
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-variate statistics and/or predictive analytics
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams (intact or project)
  • Demonstrated experience working with Success Factors
  • Demonstrated experience with Tableau or other data aggregating/dashboard software
