Procurement Assistant (Engineering Technician III) performs purchasing material, services

and equipment in support of operation, maintenance, modification, restoration, upgrading, and

repair requirements, to meet established timeframes.

Preferred candidate should have related experience with purchasing which can include obtaining material quotes from vendors, assuring quotes are stored properly to reference appropriate Technical Instructions and/or Work Orders, checking in material purchases received to verify items and quantity of each received, etc. Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software is preferred. Will work directly with the head of purchasing to assist with data management.

Purchasing is related to a contract with the following tasking (knowledge in these areas is beneficial for purchasing assistance): replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Education, licenses, and training requirements are as follows:


  1. High School Graduate.
  2. 3 years of working experience is required.
  3. Technical certifications and advanced training is beneficial.
  4. Computer Skills: Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software required.
