Essential Job Duties |
The primary purpose of the Transfer Credit Specialist position is to process transfer credit for incoming and continuing students. This position also assists with the processing of transfer credits for new international students, as well as for study abroad credits.
In addition, the position will work with the transcript processing system and assist with the development of new administrative processes associated with evolving technology. The position will also assist with degree audit updates and issue resolution, applying knowledge of current policy. Transfer student success is an important part of the University's strategic plan. |
Other Responsibilities |
- Expected to interpret and execute institutional policies
- Exercise independent judgment in the commitment of university resources
- This is fast-paced, high-volume work involving contact with prospective and current students, parents, and campus staff regarding transfer credit
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications |
- Ability to exercise judgment and work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a team member
- Strong organization and time management skills to ensure meeting scheduled deadlines
- Technology proficiency - must be knowledgeable in the use of computerized management information systems (databases)
- Demonstrated ability to make accurate and consistent interpretations of a broad variety of academic and/or administrative policies and procedures
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, particularly in matters relative to sensitive or confidential student records, personnel, or organizational matters

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in a University work setting
- Experience in a paperless records management system is a plus
