System Tester - Manned and Unmanned Surface Vessels

Overview

SCCI is seeking a System Testerfor Manned and Unmanned Surface Vessels to join our our Battle Management System technical servicesteam.Our System Testersplan, conduct, and report results of test and evaluation of the systems and products of the project teams within the BMS portfolio as part of the BMS Rapid Develop Process with particular focus on software testing. This testing includes developmental testing as well as system level testing to ensure the products are well characterized and understood before delivery to the warfighter. The team conducts testing both in the lab and in the field with constant focus on improving the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of test and evaluation to ensure the highest quality products are delivered to the warfighter as quickly as possible. The focus for this position will be on BMS projects that integrate BMS hardware and software on manned and unmanned surface platforms.This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

This position requires CONUS travel up to 3 times semi-annually.

Responsibilities:



  • Support the development of testable requirements and project test strategies
  • Develop and document methodologies for weapon systems integration and verification
  • Conduct test evaluation of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Work with developers to troubleshoot issues found during testing and report results through documentation and tickets
  • Participate in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotely
  • Collaborate with the BMS team through regularly scheduled meetings


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; Or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application or a military training background
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Knowledge of and experience with test and evaluation
  • Experience working with maritime or US Navy surface platforms
  • Experience documenting and communicating complex systems or procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environment
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, and military personnel
  • Support remote test events



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Experience working with Linux and UNIX environments
  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation best practices and rapid development processes
  • Knowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control Systems
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
