Position Summary

Responsible for planning, developing and continuous improvement of high-quality manufacturing processes for a wide variety of products, including all phases from pilot production planning to final assembly. This individual will be responsible for transitioning products from internal Design Engineering to Production and supporting those products once in routine production. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by applying LEAN, 5S and Six Sigma methods, analysing and planning staffing, workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information to management by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Includes support of new products.
  • Support floor personnel in assembly for manufacture, troubleshooting documentation and design issues to resolution.
  • Support Program/Project Managers by providing technical assistance.
  • Direct activities and provide guidance and oversight to more junior engineers and technicians.
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education

    • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or related field. 6+ years of Manufacturing experience in lieu of degree.

    Related Experience

    • 3+ Years of Related Experience

    Preferred Traits, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proficient with CAD (SolidWorks preferred), MS Office, MS Project, and MRP/ERP systems.
    • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to work in a Manufacturing Environment
    • Must be able to lift 50Lb
    • May require standing for long periods of time

    Work Conditions:

    • May require weekend and evening hours.
    • May require travel.
