Description
V2X, located in Indianapolis, IN is searching for an energetic and highly motivated candidate to join its Electrical Hardware Engineering organization. The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and development of rugged military electrical systems and/or subsystems for ground, shipboard, and/or airborne applications. These systems include Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) modules, custom circuit card assemblies (CCA) and modules, existing Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), interconnect/cabling, and SW/FW for DOD applications. Candidates must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of the Electrical Hardware Development Team. It is essential the individual be capable of adapting to changing conditions and work cooperatively in a team environment. The candidate shall architect electrical systems and subsystems performing requirement review, analysis, and derivation; performing trade studies for critical subsystem and component selection; performing system and circuit analysis on power schemes and digital and analog interfaces. The candidate shall design electrical systems to meet a set of requirements, sometimes defining those requirements. The candidate is required to utilize analog electronics simulation tools such as LTSpice, QSpice and power conversion simulation programs like SIMETRIX to model design performance. The candidate shall have familiarity with component selection and schematic capture such as Altium Designer or Siemens Xpedition. The candidate shall perform electrical schematic capture and guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout and technical drawing creation. The candidate may be required to utilize analysis and simulation tools like Mathcad and MATLAB to assess electrical design performance and robustness. The candidate shall be able to lead the electrical design team in developing and performing design reviews, system integration, and system verification and validation testing. A key responsibility of this position is to perform failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective action planning both at component level as well as subsystem/system level.
