Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY
Moog Space and Defense has an important opportunity in WNY Defense for a Senior Systems Engineer to support programs spanning various domains including ground vehicle solutions, naval applications, and tactical missiles. This individual will also be an integral team member who will advance our team's MBSE capabilities. The ideal candidate will be counted on to be a strong, experienced systems engineer, but also one who is a role model to other engineers, and exhibits the culture and character qualities that Moog, and specifically Defense Sector value the most. The successful candidate will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY Plant 20.
To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience. Including 2 years of experience as technical leader for a cross-functional team
- Classical and modern control systems design knowledge
- Demonstrated proficiency with MBSE tools and software, such as Cameo Enterprise Architect or other industry-specific MBSE tools.
- Demonstrated proficiency with systems modeling languages (SysML) or other industry-specific modeling languages.
- Direct experience working with the hardware and software aspects of electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficient with MATLAB/Simulink
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer role:
- Multi-Disciplinary Engineering (Software, Hardware, Electrical, Mathematics, Physics) experience and/or exposure.
Here's what you'll be working on day to day:
- Develop and apply a detailed understanding of systems modeling, engineering, requirements analysis, and design concepts to create, assess, and operationalize MBSE approaches to solving systems architecture, engineering, and integration challenges of complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Develop model profiles, system diagrams, architecture frameworks, and model queries in the MBSE tools that capture and analyze systems throughout their lifecycle from concept definition through integration. Generated artifacts include test plans, test reports, VCRMs, and various RM reports.
- Ensuring system designs and implementation meet technical requirements and customer/mission needs within allocated engineering cost and schedule.
- Providing detailed, prioritized recommendations derived from analysis results to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with requirements through formal presentations to technical leads and reports.
- Oversee and approve technical documentation, drawings, data, presentations, and technical report submissions to customers.
- Drive technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation or realization.
- Support lab and field testing.
- Occasional travel required.

Salary Range Transparency: Buffalo, NY $105,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually
